Limetree Airfield is owned and run by The Deegan Family. It was founded in the early 90s by Jerry and his wife Geraldine. Jerry’s love for aviation began around the early 60s when he went to Shannon airport to drop his great-aunt off as she emigrated to America, from then on it was all aviation. Jerry's first training flight was in a Rally 100 back in the mid-70s. Thereafter Jerry with the support of his wife began pursuing his love for flying. He developed his own airstrip and flew his Pegasus xl for many years up until 2004. 

In early spring in 2004, it was decided that the airstrip wound be redeveloped, sixteen years later we have two hangars and a modern club house.  

Our aim is to provide a warm and friendly atmosphere to all that have an interest in aviation and provide the platform for flight training and aircraft maintenance. 

Over the years there has been many fly-ins and BBQs which are held yearly.
